Date Published: March, 2005

Summary: Author Bill Nowlin, who heads Rounder Books, and veteran Sox writer Jim Prime, have conspired to look at one of the greatest rivalries in baseball history. Written from a truly Red Sox point of view, Blood Feud has G38's bloody sock as its inspiration. The book takes us back to some of the teams' first meetings in the 1900's up through the end of the triumphant Sox 2004 season. It explores details of the contests, on-field brawls, the question of the Curse, the Zen of Zimmer, as well as a dramatic recap of the summer of 2004. It draws both on historical research and interviews with players from both sides and captures the passion of the feud. Nowlin and Prime correctly predicted that the rivalry would only intensify as a result of a more level playing field. Blood Feud also features an Introduction by Bill "Spaceman" Lee and an Afterword by "Mr. Red Sox" - Johnny Pesky.
