Bill Slack

William H. "Bill" Slack signed with the Sox in 1952 from Canada. He put together a career 91-68 record in the Sox farm system over 11 seasons, and nearly won a batting title in 1952 at Roanoke, hitting .361, but qualification rules were changed mid-season.
He began his managerial career in 1961 at Waterloo, and managed Pocatello, Winston-Salem, and Greenville.
