Overall Career
Chalmer William Cissell was born on January 3, 1904, in Perryville, Missouri. Cissell was 24 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 11, 1928, with the Chicago White Sox. Cissell had a 9 year career as a short stop. In 956 games he batted .267 with 29 HR and 423 RBI.
Cissell had six hits in his first 11 ML at-bats in 1928, then struggled. A poor-fielding shortstop, he was moved to second base in 1930. After his playing days, he briefly worked as a janitor at Comiskey Park.
