Overall Career
William Lear "Beverly" Bayne was born on April 18, 1899, in Pittsburgh, PA. Bayne was 20 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 20, 1919, with the St. Louis Browns. Bayne had a 9-year career as a pitcher. He finished with a record of 31-32, 259 Ks and a 4.84 ERA in 662.0 innings.
Bayne's best season was with the Browns in 1921, when he was 11-5, but he slumped to 4-5 during St. Louis's pennant run in 1922.
