Summary: A truly great baseball book, Chapter 1 leads off with a flashback of the classic 1975 World Series, Chapter 2 pulls the reader back to reality in 1983, with a 1975 reunion at a Phillies-Sox Spring Training game. The rest of the book tells the soap opera of how a team loaded with young talent fumbled it's way through the introduction of Free Agency into Major League Baseball, but in a style that could only be Peter Gammons.
If you really want to know what a Buffalo Head, Gerbil, or Spaceman is, Beyond the Sixth Game is a must-read.
