Overall Career
Bennie Bennett Tate was born on December 3, 1901, in Whitwell, TN. Tate was 22 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 29, 1924, with the Washington Senators. Tate had a 10 year career as a catcher. In 566 games he batted .279 with 4 HR and 173 RBI.

Tate's Moments in the Sun
Appeared in the 1924 World Series with Washington. He pinch-hit three times for the Senators in the Series, walking each time.
