From SoSH

Date Published: 1994
Summary: This book is the companion to the Ken Burns PBS series on baseball, which traces the history of baseball from its evolution until today (well, 1994). The book is extremely readable and informative, containing all of the narrative from the miniseries plus additional details not contained in the videos. Ken Burns is obviously a baseball fanatic, and the book glorifies "America's Pastime" and provides an optimistic outlook into the future of baseball, making it a refreshing change from the recent publications focusing on steroids. In addition, it is chock full of information about famous players, games, teams, and trends in baseball history. This account of baseball's history is extremely readable, and the detailed photos make it an even more pleasurable venture. This book can be read a chapter at a time, or you can flip to a section that interests you and learn about a piece of baseball history.
A great book to add to your baseball library!
