Its exactly what the name implies. A replacement position player is one with an EQA equal to (230/260) times the average EqA for that position. A LF EqA is going to be higher then say a 2B EqA most of the time. BRARP factors that into the equation instead of comparing all players it compares the value of hitters at each position separately.
