Overall Career
Andy Shibilo was selected by St. Louis Cardinals in 23rd Round (678th overall) of 1998 amateur entry draft and signed on June 5,1998. After two poor seasons with the New Jersey Cardinals and Peoria Chiefs, Shibilo was relased by the Cardinals on March 30, 2000. The next day, he signed with Lehigh Valley of the independent Atlantic League where he went 11-13 with a 4.02 ERA during the 2000 baseball season.
On Mar 4, 2001 Shibilo was signed by San Diego Padres. He had a great year in 2001, going 10-2 with a 1.96 ERA for the Lake Elsinore Storm of the California League. In 2002, Shibilo started the year with the AA Mobile Bay Bears of the Southern League. On June 23, 2002 Shibilo was traded by Padres along with Alan Embree to Red Sox for Brad Baker and Dan Giese. He started his stint with the Red Sox for their AA affiliate Trenton, where he went 1-0 with a 3.19 ERA in 21 games and eventually appeared in six game for the 2002 Pawtucket Red Sox. Shibilo started the 2003 season with Portland and was later promoted to the 2003 Pawtucket Red Sox where he went 2-1 with a 4.76 ERA in 38 games. Shibilo was on the Red Sox 40-man roster until September 1, 2003, when he was designated to make room for Bill Haselman, and was granted free agency on October 15, 2003.
Andy Shibilo spent parts of the 2004 and 2005 seasons with the Long Island Ducks (Atlantic League), the Iowa Cubs (Chicago's AAA team in the Pacific Coast League), the Tacoma Rainiers (Seattle's AAA team in the Pacific Coast League), the Bridgeport Bluefish (Atlantic League) and the Sacramento River Cats (Oakland's AAA in the Pacific Coast League).
