Anastacio Martinez (born on November 3, 1978 in Villa Mella, D.R.), was a Red Sox prospect from 1998 to 2005, Martinez is a righty reliever who struggled with control issues.

Overall Career
The Red Sox signed Martinez as a non-drafted free agent on January 6, 1998. In July of 2003 he was sent to the Pittsburgh Pirates, only to be traded back 9 days later. He labored in the minor leagues until 2004, when he appeared in 11 games for the Red Sox. In March of 2005, the Red Sox resigned Martinez to a one-year deal. 26 days later he was designated for assigment. In February of 2006, Martinez signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals.
