Overall Career
Allan E. "Rubberarm" Russell was born on July 31, 1893, in Baltimore, MD. Russell was 22 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 13, 1915, with the New York Yankees.
Russell had an 11-year career as a right handed relief pitcher. He was a spitballer, even allowed to use the pitch after its banning. He finished with a 71-76 record, 603 Ks and a 3.52 ERA in 1,394.1 IP.
