Alexander Emmanuel Rodriguez was born on July 27, 1975 in New York City. Recognized by many as the most talented player in the game, A-Rod is so many things to so many people: father, husband, philanderer, third baseman, shortstop, MVP, scapegoat, albatross, choke artist, GIDP master. Though he bats and throws right, he is ambidextrous when it comes to slapping balls around.

He was beaten up by Jason Varitek during a game in 2004. Despite spurning the Red Sox during the 2003 offseason (a move that cost him a World Series ring, or earned the Sox one, depending on who you talk to), there was speculation that the Red Sox organization would go after him after he opting out of his contract in 2007 (he instead re-signed with the Yankees).

Red Sox Nation will always considers him a douche, especially after he tried to interrupt the deciding Game 4 of the 2007 World Series with the announcement of his opt-out.
