Albert E. DeVormer was born on August 19, 1891, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. DeVormer was 26 years old when he broke into the big leagues on August 4, 1918, with the Chicago White Sox.
DeVormer had a 5-year career as a back-up catcher. In 196 games he batted .258 with 2 HR and 57 RBI.
