Fisk waves the ball fair
  • 10/21 - In one of the greatest games in baseball history, Bernie Carbo delivered a two out, three-run pinch-hit blast off Rawly Eastwick to tie up the 6th game of the 1975 World Series in the 8th inning. In the 11th, Dwight Evans made a miraculous play that turned a possible Joe Morgan homerun into two outs, snaring Morgans's deep drive and doubling Ken Griffey up at first base. Rick Wise then pitched in and out of trouble in the 12th inning, stranding Tony Perez and George Foster on first and second. That tension quickly erupted into complete jubilation when Carlton Fisk led off the Red Sox 12th with one of the most memorable plays in Red Sox and Postseason history. Fisk's Walk Off blast and consequent body-english pleading with the ball to stay fair remains an image associated with baseball greatness to this day.
