  • 7/15 (1) - Cy Young could hold his own with the lumber, hitting .321 during the 1903 season. He displayed his prowess at the plate in the first game of a double header against Cleveland as ol' Cy drove in battery mate Lou Criger for the victory.

Boston 4, Cleveland 3 - 10 innings

  • 7/17 - The Americans nipped the Tigers on what must have been one of the wildest walkoff wins of all time. Buck Freeman hammered a triple into the spacious Huntington Avenue Grounds outfield and then came on into score when the throw into towards third base skipped away.

Boston 1, Detroit 0

  • 9/3 - After scoring four times in the 7th to tie it up with the A's, the game stretched on into the 12th. In the home half of that frame, Philly shortstop Monte Cross' error allowed Boston's winning run to cross the dish.

Boston 6, Philadelphia 5 - 12 innings

  • 9/18 - Freddy Parent drilled what was most likely the franchises first modern-day walkoff shot, that is, a ball leaving the yard to end a game. It took a stellar comeback just to get in that position. Trailing 6-0 in the bottom of the 5th, the Americans cut it to 6-5 by the bottom of the 9th. It was in that inning that Parent hit his blast with a man on base, collecting the necessary two runs for the big win.

Boston 7, Cleveland 6

  • 9/21 - For the second time in three games Boston won in remarkable fashion, especially for the small ball days of the early 20th Century. However, it was no surprise the final blow came off the bat of the league's HR leader, Buck Freeman. Buck belted the game-winning walkoff shot that gave the Americans 11 wins in their last 12 contests.

Boston 4, Chicago 3 - 12 innings
