Doubront vs. Johnson

I had a pretty good run as the second game thread starter for the Bruins season, let's see how it goes over here.

What I have learned so far this season: winning is so much more fun than losing and sliding into first base with your hands should be illegal.

Geaux, Sox!

Meh, coming to the AL East with weakening stuff and declining peripherals after a career in the NL? Bring it on.

I'd totally be down with getting on this train if we didn't just throw Ryan Dempster out there for our third start.

Wow! Six posts without a mention of a certain rookie outfielder.

Maybe I should check another thread.

If JBJ had homered off Rivera last night, I'm pretty sure the boards couldn't have handled it.

Really hoping the next two nights provides evidence that Dempster is not our No. 3.

There is not enough hate in this thread. No-one gives a shit about the Blue Jays. "Oh they're so bland and innocuous." No. Fuck their stupid turfed pinball machine stadium---sorry, that's CENTRE, fuck their abomination of a seventh inning stretch (OK BLUE JAYS? SO THREATENING), fuck Buck Martinez and his stupid voice, fuck the milquetoast lobotomy patient fanbase, fuck Brett Lawrie. O fucking Canada. You have smiley Jose Reyes now? Still not fucking likeable.

First Sox visit of the year, first game of the year for me, first day of 2013 that living in Jays land pays off. Go Sox. Fuck.

There's a nice scene in the novel, "Border Songs," where some Canadians in a bar express gratitude for the U.S., since without it, no one would think Canada was "so nice, so beautiful, so rational." (or words to that effect).

Balance of power shifting in the AL East.

1. MFY have a losing record for all of 2013

2.  Red Sox make playoffs

If you told me I could only have one of these and not the other, I'd have a hard time deciding.  Ok, you got me, I'd take 2, but I really want 1.

Wouldn't even take me a moment to decide.  In fact, if the order were reversed, I wouldn't have to read the option that isn't the Sox making the playoffs.

Hazel May interviewing Remy on pregame here:

No punches pulled on BV

"Chaos from day 1 of spring training"

"Farrell gives team somebody they respect, which is what was needed"

"Last year was a mess and this year is already better"

"Gives team emotional stability, confident leadership"

The anti-Farrell sentiment in Toronto is a good thing. There hasn't been much edge to Toronto/Boston games in recent years. Their team is better, their attitude is worse, and these games are going to have some juice.

EDIT: @flymrfreakjar: They hate him because he begged out of his contract to come manage for us.
