Somehow missed this one when I was picking end of the draft players (2008).  He has missed two full seasons (2010 and 2012) due to injury.  Alex Speier noted him and a sleeper to watch and I didn't see a thread on him, so here goes.  Info from soxprospects.com.  Projected to start the year in Salem.

Age: 22

Born:
March 13, 1990

Ingleside, IL

Height:
        6-6

Weight:
        235

Bats:
Right

Throws:
Right

Drafted:
50th round, 2008

How Acquired:
Draft

High
School:
Grant
Community HS (IL

Scouting Report:
Large-framed righty with a sturdy build. Smooth, repeatable delivery.
Fastball sits in the low-90s and tops out at 95 mph. Able to go deep
into games while maintaining velocity. With some strength training,
Stroup's fastball could gain even more velocity. Possesses a low-70s
knuckle curveball with plus potential. Also, has a splitter and a
straight changeup. Originally projected to go in the top ten rounds of
the 2008 draft, Stroup slipped due to bonus demands. Missed the 2010
season with an ACL injury. He made his debut in full season ball in
Greenville to start the 2011 season.

Because I really have no life, I sent a tweet to Evan Lepler, the PBP man for the Salem Red Sox.  I asked him if there was an issue with Stroup since it appears he was skipped this time through the rotation.  His response.....

This may sound weird, but he was skipped because he's getting healthier. He won't wear his hulking knee brace in next start.
