Positives: Bruins win. Horton. Rask. How loud the Garden was.
Negatives: Hot dogs given to me for free causing food poisoning and me puking out my old man's truck on the way home without the benefit of a good drunk buzz... just the taste of stale bread and hot dogs that are just wrong. Wrong wrong wrong.
Excuse me, I'm going to go throw up again.

It was nice getting the two points tonight. I thought they came out well in the first, but fell flat in the second. Part of that was due to the parade to the box (and fuck Lindy Ruff and Ryan Miller for this goalie interference bull shit). The Krejci line has really brought it all year, and they got a big goal late in the 3rd. Lucic and Horton have been outstanding so far this year.
I'm not sure what to make of Chris Bourque so far. 0fer on the stat sheet, but I've liked his overall play along the boards and on the forecheck. That line has done nothing on the year (2 assists, combined -11). That's not all on Bourque. Kelly and Peverley haven't been good either.

That 3rd line has been terrible and the 2nd line hasn't been consistent, yet they are 5-0-1. The depth on this team is so awesome. Once guys like Seguin, Lucic, and Krejci get going, this team can be downright scary. Horton is like a huge free agent addition. Huge difference with him healthy.

Not a big surprise, but it appears Jeremy Jacobs's free food is not to be trusted.

Also, for the nightly Dougie update- I thought he was fantastic defensively. Coughed the puck up once in the first period, but other than that I thought he played very well in his own end. Hamilton played the right side today (plays right with Chara, left with Seidenberg). Kovalchuk seems to love to carry the puck up his off wing a lot, so Dougie had to handle him one-on-one several times. I thought he did a great job keeping Kovalchuk to the outside and not allowing him any good looks.

I should have known something was up when they told me the voucher wasn't for the Nathan's hot dog. It was for a special hot dog at a different place.
By special, they must have meant poison.

I loved when Brick went out of his way to complement the Jacobs family for the promotion and you could practically hear Jack's teeth gritting

I like to win
Yeah, I like how they pull the free hot dogs from the counter below the warmer. Tasty. The guy that sits behind us referred to them as warm dogs. I was amused.
Heck of a win. Don't think they really had it tonight but they battled and were freaking awesome again on the PK and then just when I was starting to lose hope BAM. Horton.
Carry us to February T4P...

He does a lot of little things that actually become really easy to notice when you pay attention and compare him to lesser mortals. For example, most of the time when Boychuk or McQuaid has the puck along the boards in the D-zone and the next pass/decision isn't super-obvious and easy, they basically freeze and squeeze the puck against the boards for dear life until help arrives. Dougie, on the other hand, more or less never even puts himself in position to have to do that because he's such an excellent skater and passer. Always moves with a purpose and always thinking two steps ahead (in a good way).
He made one play tonight that was really a nothing play but I was incredibly amused. The puck had squirted past his partner into the D-zone, so he had to chase it down before a Devil got to it. He gathered it around the left faceoff dot and wheeled around in front of Rask with someone right on his tail. I assumed he was just going to try to skate it out, but instead he threw it ahead of him straight at the boards. Puck hits at the perfect angle to send it up ice to a B's forward waiting around the blue line. It was such an unusual looking play compared to the usual clear around the boards from behind the net. Guy just seems to see the ice differently and he is never afraid to make a play.

I noticed this play, too, and I thought it was spectacular. IIRC, it was right after Brickley (I think) had mentioned that he got an A in Physics in high school, as well, so it made it all that much more amusing.
This team is so much fun to watch.

From KPD's article:
So, five rounds in the books and the Bruins turn to . . . Brad Marchand, the ’Lil Ball o’ Hate, selected for the first time in his career for a shootout attempt.
“I told him to fake and go high,’’ said Seguin, asked if he provided counsel to his linemate. “But Lord knows he’s not going to listen to anybody but himself.’’
Hate indeed can make a man obstinate. And accurate. Marchand beat his way straight to the net and flicked a forehander that banged off the blade of Hedberg’s paddle and angled in slowly over the goal line.
‘’All I could hear was Segz saying, ‘Go high! Go high!,’ ’’ said Marchand, asked what he heard from his own bench. “But I just kind of blacked out. I don’t know what happened . . . I’m serious, I blacked out. I don’t know what happened. I just made a move, shot, and looked back . . . and it was in.’’

Watch that to the end. Dafoomie includes a quote from HFBoards about the guy that did it and a pic.

That gets TheRealness off the hook...plus I know he sits at the other end.
I've never seen a re-do on shootout attempt. Twice as nice!

I didn't realize live that it actually went behind Hedberg. I saw it fly past and figured they were going to make him redo it but watching that he definitely never saw it until he looked to his left and saw it sitting on the ice. Cant' really blame him I guess but that's weak. Puck don't lie and all that.
Glad that "guy" wasn't in my seat...

Chiarelli on Bourque on 98.5....... "needs to keep his feet moving at this level... thought game against Islanders was good... he's had some average outings too... you can debate what type of system he fits into... we like the left shot skill set he has... right now it's not clicking so we'll have to see how that goes."

Seguin pointing to the red after scoring again with this "we good now?" look on his face was amusing, although the refs got it right in forcing the re-do.
The Marchand/Clarkson thing was funny too. Clarkson chirping Marchand with the big nose, and then Marchand following suit chirping the entire Devils bench after scoring as well as after Tuukka made the stop on Zidlicky.

It would not have still looked like a hot dog if I 'threw' it. It would just be a big orange splatter with chunks in it.

Probably would've still beaten Hedberg 5-hole though.
