Don't get embarrassed. Give Ray a standing ovation. Don't get embarrassed.
Not sure what percentage I'd put on that happening... I'd say 25%. Although if it's the same crowd that we had for the Knicks game, they'll just be quiet.
Just fucking win, we are at our lowest point right now. Start the climb up.

Ray is besides the point today. The Cs are so pathetic right now that the fans who might have booed Ray with gutso wont have the energy to do it.
I'm still pissed at Ray for joining those misanthropes and would probably lightly boo if I was there. I don't need a Bob Ryan-like lecture about why that makes me a misguided fan. This is from the heart and I get the points that Doc Rivers and others will forcefully make about Ray's contribution to the Cs, 2008 and his right to choose, particularly after the Cs continually tried to deal him.
Sigh.

The difference is that Johnny D never gave the perception of being a distinguished figure like Ray, Johnny D's mom wasn't a beloved figure at the Fens, and Michelle did not have her own cooking show. Ray's move seems much more traitorish, if that's a word
I will be booing Ray from one the Premium seats (thank you, tundra). Anyone who wants to have a soft drink is welcome.

Everything about Ray's departure drives me insane.
A "former teammate" weighs in:
"One former Celtics teammate of Allen's told Metro Boston that the way in
which Allen left - choosing Miami over Boston shortly after that team
knocked the C's out of the postseason - irked him a bit. The player
understands that Allen had to do what's best for himself, but wondered
if his future with Boston, or the possibility of joining the Heat in the
offseason, was on Allen's mind even when the two sides were playing
each other in the postseason."
http://www.metro.us/...reeling-celtics
I look back at that 7th game against Miami last year... the way it ended... seeing Garnett, Pierce, Rondo, etc. devastated walking off the court... they felt as I felt... then you see Ray Allen essentially celebrating the victory with them... it made me want to vomit.
When he signed with the Heat shortly thereafter, his entire M.O. over his career of being this intelligent, honest, loyal, a charitable figure, who's the first one in the gym and the last one to leave, a guy who plays through injuries... I was over it.
Steroids are to Lance Armstrong as big titted whores are to Tiger Woods as signing with the Heat is to Ray Allen.
The media painted this incredible picture of a hero for years that I bought into but I no longer feel that way.
I appreciate everything he did in Boston. Play a video to honor his years as a Celtic but it's on after that.
Fuck the Heat. Fuck Ray Allen.
Salvage the season.

I'm not particularly into booing.... but at a minimum I wouldn't be giving Ray any sort of ovation. He had a right to leave of course, but I do think it's tarnished his legacy in Boston. Particularly the way he handled it afterward. No reason to pretend otherwise.
More importantly.... don't get embarrassed.

Shitty ending but what a fun year and era that was.

I don't care if they win or lose, just tear D-Wade's ACL and call it a day.

Line is Heat -3.5
Interesting.

I think today I've come to terms with the fact that I'm mostly rooting for injuries, and maybe even one or two on our own team ![]()

About time. Hopefully Wilcox is the first big off the bench.

Dan Devine: "no one... And I mean no one... Comes into our house and pushes us around."
Lets hope.

@SeanGrandePBP: Jared Sullinger (+48 in the last 17 while Cs are -38) will replace Brandon Bass in the starting lineup for the Celtics today.
About time. Hopefully Wilcox is the first big off the bench.
About time is right. I think sully will play well against udon is under the basket.

I am drunk and it is 230am. I really want to see Sully start but I will pay by my 18mo screaming in my ear in about 6 hours.
#16
Posted 27 January 2013 - 12:30 PM
Fuck Ray Allen.
#17
Posted 27 January 2013 - 12:50 PM
Celtics will probably win today just to fuck with us.

Yep, no Rondo, knee injury. Fucking hell.
#20
Posted 27 January 2013 - 12:56 PM
Bracing for Mike Breen.
Oh great, now Rondo is out.
#21
Posted 27 January 2013 - 12:58 PM
I predict Sully will foul out halfway through the fourth quarter through no fault of his own.
#22
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:00 PM
Bracing for Mike Breen.
Oh great, now Rondo is out.
No Breen, he's got the A game later today. Tirico is an upgrade. I think.

A fine how do you do. Well, I guess I won't be watching this game after all. I can only handle so much humiliation and depression in one week. A probable thrashing by the asshole-laden heat team is not a spectacle I wish to experience today.

It's a post-Festivus miracle!

On the plus side, it will fuck with Wade's head not having Rondo in the game. He'll be wandering around aimlessly, looking to someone to injure.
#26
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:03 PM
Oh, great, an injury to our big trade chip. FFS.
#27
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:04 PM
Oh give me a fucking break. It begins already. Fuck off.
#28
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:04 PM
Didn't take long. First bad call against the Celtics.
#29
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:05 PM
Can't rebound against the worst rebounding team in the league.
Sigh...
#30
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:06 PM
Killed on the boards already.
#31
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:06 PM
Wade just clearly stepped out of bounds. More free points.
#32
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:06 PM
Lee is already playing better defense than Rondo.
#33
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:06 PM
The shot clock didn't reset when the Heat picked up the loose ball.
#34
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:07 PM
LOL no call.
#35
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:09 PM
KG can still hang with anybody, the problem is he can only do it for 3 quarters most of the time.
#36
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:11 PM
Great, we sitll have shitty version of Paul Pierce
#37
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:11 PM
Wade's wearing a wire? Don't tell Carmelo.
#38
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:12 PM
Great, we sitll have shitty version of Paul Pierce
The Truth is, he's got to shoot his way out of it.
#39
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:12 PM
So it appears we're going to be "entertained" by DWade miked up throughout the game.
ABC sucks.
#40
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:12 PM
Holy shit, Courtney Lee just stuffed LBJ.
#41
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:12 PM
LOL @ LBJ looking for a call after getting blocked 100% clean
#42
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:12 PM
LBJ shocked he didn't get the call on a clean block.
#43
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:12 PM
As soon as Lebron gets blocked he immediately looks to the ref as if there's no way that could legally happen.
#44
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:13 PM
You really can see the difference in defensive effort between Lee and Rondo. Unfortunately, you can see the difference in talent on the offensive side as well.
#45
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:13 PM

which is why the league sucks

WOW - FUCK these fucking fairweathered fans at the Garden, cheering for Ray Allen? Fuck everybody at that arena clapping
#47
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:15 PM
havent lived in the US lately, is the geico lizard really still a thing?
#48
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:15 PM
You'd think maybe ABC would mic up Ray Allen today, and not Wade.
#49
Posted 27 January 2013 - 01:16 PM
all it takes is a 2 minute video to make the fans there go from booing to cheering? fucking weak
