Whatever Soxy, I want 3 more. First franchise to win 3 championships in 4 years would be fucking cool. Aim high, bro, aim high.

I meant twice. Like the Pats win 3 out of the next four. I said aim high.

Last week I believe it was Jacoby Jones with a season ending catch against the Broncos. Except it wasn't. They came back. And that's why they are in the Super Bowl. The Welker drop should have been a drop and nothing else. He didn't de-ball the team. The better team won and did their god damn job after losing key players for much of the year. It happens. Happened to the 2010 Packers at the right time, happened last year and happened this year.

Want to win a super bowl? Build a better god damn team, especially on defense and stop acting like the world revolves around this team. It doesn't. Every great team comes here, they never go on the road vs a tough team. They are never battle tested. Their last AFC 4 playoff games were the Tebow broncos, an almost loss vs Ravens, the fucking Texans that were falling apart after the Jax game, and the Ravens loss. They also lost to the Seahawks and 49'ers. What playoff teams did they beat? The fucking rookie Colts? Stop it. The 2-2 Broncos? Were they the same team? C'mon now.

Everybody here said "We are a different team than week 2 vs the Ravens". Well then the same goes for the Broncos. Just as the Texans were a different team week 7 and week 15. Shit happens. They are who they are - nothing more. Brady's first loss, ever, at home with a lead after the half. Are you kidding me? This fanbase should only do one thing - suck his dick and thank him for the ride. Nuff said.

At least neither of the Manning brothers will be in this Superbowl, though I'm sure the announcers will find a way to fellate them somehow in their commentary.

That'll be next year. Heads will explode.

No but I was a photographer for a HS newspaper. Until I found out reporting on girls volleyball locker room gossip wasn't appropriate. Then they realized I was 24. It's a long story. Stop asking questions. Let's just hope Ray Lewis scores the g.w td on a fumble, has it called back for a penalty and kills a ref, gets arrested, and then they give up the game winning td in 2 weeks.

Big help, buddy. This isn't the silver linings thread. This is the thread where we yell at each other until Captain Laddie admits that Anquan Boldin is a beast.

Don't think I won't slap a man.

You (BAL) just won a game, show some class, I don't think I have seen a Patriot player do that after a win or a loss

Other than the Patriots dancing on the Chargers logo after a playoff win.

Other than Belichick saying within earshot of Jets fans and media members, "NFL's best defense? They can suck my dick." after a victory over the Jets in New York.

Yup, the Patriots never do stuff like that.

That's being disingenuous. Those were responses to fights that the other team(s) started by running their mouths, and 2 instances over the span of...what? 11 years?

I don't think the Patriots initiate stuff. And, to their credit, when they lose they don't gripe about the other team being "classless" or any of that sore loser shit.

But, really, who cares? Every fucking football team is arrogant.

Hardly disingenuous. A poster implied that the Patriots never engage in that type of behavior. I merely provided the two examples that came immediately to mind. I could have included others (Brady walking off the field like a petulant child before the Super Bowl was even over, etc.). My point was merely that the Patriots also engage in that kind of behavior. As to whether it was in response to other teams' trash-talking, that is irrelevant. Classless behavior is classless behavior.

I will say, however, that they are one of the NFL franchises that keep a lid on that kind of behavior, which is to their credit. They're just not perfect.

The amount of shit you guys are giving guys like Welker, Ridley and Brady is pretty amazing. These three guys are the reason the Pats almost got back to the Superbowl for the second consecutive season.

The truth is that Baltimore made great adjustments at the half to take advantage of Talib's absence. They knew they had mismatches with Boldin and Smith - they executed perfectly when you think about it. Flacco was great in the second half and the Ravens D was stout when it needed to be.

The helmet to helmet calls in this thread are stupid. Ridley is a "runner" and therefore helmet-to-helmet is legal. Furthermore, Stevan looked like he initiated the contact with that reprehensible scumbag Pollard.

I am disappointed but I am not angry. This team has spoiled us beyond our wildest dreams. Its been a long time since they won it all but we have nothing on fans of teams like the Jets, Browns and Chiefs.

This season was a hell of a run. It sucks that it had to end but whatever. Now go 49ers. I hope that shitstack, taintchicken Pollard is flattened by Vernon Davis or Crabtree on the game-winning touchdown. And we can still hope that Ray Lewis' last game as a pro is an excruciating loss.

Go 9ers!

Best post of the thread.

Quite fitting if this thread ends on page 69 as the Pats pretty much ate ass.

EDIT - wrong poster quoted. I did a cut and paste. That was from DeJesus.

Yep. Just look at the SB thread, which is a mess. People like you and me, walking around aimlessly like the crowd in Dealey Plaza captured in those grainy home movies. 49ers fans not having a clue and getting chesty about insults, real and imagined, aimed at Kap and the crazy one, Jim Harbaugh.

Death comes so suddenly in football, even when you know you're in for some trouble early, as we did. The worst baseball meltdowns by contrast -- e.g. the Reds shocking WS upset of the As -- take 5 full days before you're finally done.

Do you not understand what a 69 is?  Or was that a slip of the tongue?

I am fully aware of what 69 is - hence the "pretty much" before the ate ass. Not exactly, but damn close.
