I realize after doing this that I have the Seahawks coming east two weeks in a row and winning, which isn't something west coast teams have an easy time with, but I think the Seahawks are too hot to be slowed down.

My head says Atlanta is a paper tiger, but if they're ever going to do anything, now is the time. The NFC is pretty unpredictable in general. If SEA had a home game to work with I'd probably pick them to come out of the NFC, but I don't like them on the road enough to pick them for back-to-back east-coast road wins against playoff-quality teams. They did go 3-5 on the road this year against a laughably bad group of teams...Cardinals (L), Rams (L), Panthers (W), 49ers (L), Lions (L), Dolphins (L), Bears (W), Bills (W).
The AFC really just looks like a couple of weeks of formalities before Brady-Manning armageddon.

(win%+SoS*2)/3, w HFA being the tiebreaker
AFC - WC - Hou (.580) over Cin (.499) / Bal (.539) over Ind (.523)
Div - NE (.580) over Hou (.580) / Den (.576) over Bal (.539)
CCG - NE (.580) over Den (.576)
NFC - WC - Sea (.567) over Was (.539) / GB (.568) over Min (.553)
Div - Sea (.567) over Atl (.551) / SF (.576) over GB (.568)
CCG - SF (.576) over Sea (.567)
Super Bowl - NE (.580) over SF (.576)
Atlanta has not only played the worst schedule of any playoff team (.421), they are the only NFC team to play a schedule worse than .496. Every team in the NFC not only played a tougher SoS than Atl, they all played wayyyy tougher schedules, with 4 teams playing schedules over .500. Avg NFC playoff teams SoS was .492, but drop Atl and it jumps to .506
Three AFC teams played schedules under .496 : Cinci, Den, Indy. (Four teams overall played .496 OppW%: NE, Bal, Hou, Was)
Avg AFC teams SoS was .470, much less than the NFC. No team had a schedule over .500

Some quick notes:
- Interesting that so many people have DEN making the SB. Since they haven't won a game against a contender, it's hard to predict what they are going to do in the playoffs. Indy (over Houston), New England (over Houston), Houston (over Denver) and even Baltimore (over New England) all have wins over contenders. I'm not saying that Denver couldn't go all the way, but where is the evidence that they can beat a good team in a big game?
- Part of me really thinks that Houston could go down to Cincy, but the strength of the Bengals being the Bengals overpowers the Texans collapsing down the stretch.
- Atlanta seems like a lock for being the worse team with a bye, but I still think they can beat Seattle as long as they are at home. Seattle's impressive 8-0 home record tends to hide their mediocre 3-5 road record.
- I like the Pats over San Francisco in the SB because I just don't think that SF has the offensive weapons to beat the Pats. Unless that Pats make a ton of mistakes or SF gets really lucky (like say, recover over half a dozen fumbles) I don't think they can win.

Nail, meet head. This is what I've been saying to anyone who has been within earshot. Their schedule has been cupcake city with their best win being over a hobbled Ravens team. Denver is 0-3 against the top teams on their schedule.

Denver, Atlanta and San Francisco are all overrated, IMHO. I don't think anyone is close to NE in this tournament. Man, I hate you guys.

I hate when I agree with you because it ruins all of my unfair generalizations about Raider fans.
Anyways, I have a really good feeling about the Pats this year (but that seems to happen every year).

Another question I haven't heard anyone bring up regarding Denver and specifically Manning: how will they handle bad weather? It's probable playing in Denver in January (especially potential prime time games) that you're going to see some harsh temperatures and perhaps even some snow. We haven't seen Manning tested at all in adverse conditions this season. Check out the temperate forecast for each of their games this season:
1 - 82
