Tickets are going on sale for the annual event. So far the lineup of attendees is as follows although I feel confident that we are going to be announcing some significant additional players in the near future.

The 2013 event welcomes:

  • Ryan Kalish — Red Sox outfielder
  • Doug Mirabelli-2004 World Series champion
  • Rich Hill — Red Sox pitcher
  • Clayton Mortensen-Red Sox pitcher
  • Craig Breslow — Red Sox pitcher
  • Chris Carpenter-Red Sox pitcher
  • Brandon Workman — 2012 SoxProspects.com Rookie of the Year
  • Anthony Ranaudo — Red Sox first round pick 2010
  • Deven Marrero — Red Sox first round pick 2012
  • Blake Swihart — Soxprospects.com #8 rated prospect
  • Garin Cecchini — Red Sox 2012 Baserunner of the Year
The event will be held at Jillians on January 19, 2013. As usual, there will be bowling contests for memorabilia, a silent auction, an opportunity drawing and other activities. It is a great event for all ages. Tickets can be purchased starting today at http://www.jimmyfund...rs/default.html

Thanks for your support and I look forward to seeing many of you there again.

Cool. I guess he's officially re-signed with Boston. ;)

I hope Farrell comes.

We had such a blast last year (and every year, to be frank), with Pedro. Can't wait to see who might be added to the list!

Matt Barnes had to cancel through no fault of his own.

Is Farrell going to be there?

Not to answer for Scott, but it's been reported that Farrell is meeting with Lackey in Dallas today, Doubront and Morales in Fort Myers tomorrow, and Bard in Mississippi Sunday, so I'm going to bet on "No."

Good crowd, not as big as last year with Pedro or the year before with Schill, but still decent sized. Very well organized event, as per usual. Some good deals on the silent auction stuff and very good deals on memorabilia sales (Lester signed ball for $40, A-Gon ball for $25).

Mirabelli signed a ball for a friend of mine "Dougie's going deep tonight!"

I haven't taken any photos at New Stars the last couple of years; hard to balance the camera and the photos I want to get signed! I did promise Scott I'll plan better next year, though. Indeed, as Lose says, a quality crowd and a well-run event. Amusing to see the kids' table (Marrero, Workman, Swihart, Ranaudo) all sporting offseason beards! Very personable group across the board this year.

Best moments for me: Swihart indicating that this isn't the first photo of him where it looks like he's posing:

and Ranaudo's response to this photo:

My own thoughts on that shot: The light in Portland can be amazing, and I was glad I got both the name on the jersey and his profile.
Ranaudo's immediate response: "That's so sloppy! You can see the waistband of my sliders."
