As a Met fan I feel bad for Reyes. As a baseball fan I feel bad for Marlins fans. I mean, Loria is absolutely vile. It's a miracle he didn't send an apology letter to season ticket holders for a terrible 2012 season, then announce he will sign Josh Hamilton as a scam to show he wants to 'compete', confirm this Blue Jays trade behind the scenes and not leak it to the press, secure those season tickets after signing Josh, Fedex Cocaine to Josh's house, voild the contract due to 'wreckless behavior', keep the season ticket sales and then make this trade. I bet he at least CONSIDERED such an elaborate scheme.

I bet he would poison santa's cookies, when he was a kid, so he could have more toys for himself. You're a mean one, Mr Loria.

Yep, Rogers Sportsnet corrected themselves. Much better prospect then what Marisnick who I mentioned earlier. He's a top LHP prospect. The Jays may regret giving him up in a few years, but I'm sure if he pans out he won't be in Miami by then anyways.

Situations like this are at the point that I can't really blame Loria - if local government is stupid enough to fall for a scheme this obvious (it is), why not pursue it and follow through? He gets a taxpayer-funded new stadium, increased return on TV rights, STH, etc - and now he can fall right back into revenue sharing as if nothing happened. Rinse and repeat.

Last time the Blue Jays made a deal of this magnitude, they had to give up all-stars Fred McGriff and Tony Fernandez. They got Joe Carter and Robbie Alomar, and they won 2 World Series in the following 3 years. This time they got the return without giving up as much major league talent. Yikes.
