KC and Dayton say thank you, NCAA.

Yep I went to the first and round games in Jacksonville a few years ago and there were no teams in that pod from the immediate area . (Duke was probably the closest team) God the attendance sucked , there were times it seemed like there were 2000 ppl in the arena. So I really think helps to have the teams as close as possible.
Attendance. Attendance. Attendance.

You're not the only one. This is the 3rd year it's like this. Not only MTSU/STM, but Butler/Bucknell and Gonzaga/Wichita St is pissing me off.
Gonzaga/Wichita doesn't bother me, since that's not only a prospective matchup but also a 1 vs 9. Shit like that's going to happen with the Zags no longer a Cinderella team. But VCU & Akron being paired up in the first round is irksome.

Holy shit. I missed when they announced UNC and just noticed they're an 8-seed. Putting them only one line above Villanova is beyond absurd. How the fuck do these committee members nod in agreement with a straight face with something that ridiculous staring back at them?
NC had a better RPI/SOS than all 4 7 seeds, the same record against the top 100 as Notre Dame and better than San Diego State and Illinois (Creighton was 10-5, better than NC's 9-9), and a better record in their last ten than any of the 7 seeds. It was all about getting Kansas against UNC.

This was the most non-controversial selection I can ever recall. The bracketology consensus had every single team, and the seeds were very close, too. Nothing to see here, let's play ball.

How Bucknell got a better seed than a Pac-12 regular season champ, I will never understand.
