Regardless, there's still a game to be played and the Celts might as well win.

I like their chances tonight and all year.

And I like the tangibles (depth, health) and intangibles (Ray anger, apparent Ubuntu 2.0, lots of "experts" overlooking them or picking them behind the Knicks and Nets).

Going to be quite a challenging game. I'm interested to see how the C's respond when Miami goes with a lineup of Bosh, Lebron, Battier, Ray Allen, and Wade. I don't know how you can stop 5 guys that can all shoot.

Regardless of that, I'm excited to see the season starting. I'm most interested to see Jeff Green tonight. I'm hoping he's going to be a major weapon for the Celts this year. Also interested in seeing Jared Sullinger and whether his strong pre-season can carry over.

Anybody know if Sullinger is officially starting or did they go back to Bass for now?

The game is on TNT and the ring ceremony will be around 7:30. So, yeah, there's some doubt.

As of this morning, Doc had not revealed tonight's starter. I read that in the Globe or the Herald and can't recall which one it was.

More importantly, he said on Felger and Mazz's show several days ago that he intended to start Sullinger, Green and Bass at different times this year at the 4 spot and it depended on match-ups and how guys were playing.

We'll see if he sticks to that for very long. I tend to doubt it.

Yeah, I feel like it will all work itself out if Sullinger continues his strong play from the pre-season. Good problem to have. Hopefully Sullinger can pick up the defense quickly. If he starts to get schooled, that might allow Bass to creep back in.

It probably won't matter much in the long run, as the guy playing PF in the 4th quarter will be more interesting to watch. I'm guessing they go with Jeff Green more often than not..

The comparison between my feelings about the Celtics going into last season's opener versus the Knicks as opposed to this season's is very favorable. I saw the C's as a proud and tough team in decline going into last year; this year I'm hoping for a renaissance with all the depth and young talent they've added.
