@AdamSchefter: Aaron Hernandez's ankle hasn't responded to treatment. He's struggling to cut, won't play Sunday vs. Rams. Bye next week

Hernandez isn't the only one who stayed back: told that Patrick Chung (shoulder) did not make the trip either

He's been hurt so much over the past year that it's hard to be sure when if ever we'll be able to trust his health again.
The ironic thing is he was never hurt in college, he played 16 games his rookie year,14 his second, and the first 7 of his third season. So he missed two games in 6 and a half seasons then misses 9 out of his next 19 games (and a good chunk of a tenth game).
I'm not trying to Eric Van cherrypick, it's just crazy to me that he goes from never hurt to always hurt.

There were reports earlier in the week that LB Mike Rivera was in the locker room. I never heard about a corresponding roster move; did anyone else?
No, apparently he was just in for a try out.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
The Patriots have released their entire inactive list: Hernandez, Chung, Gregory, Bolden, White, Dowling, Scott.

Ha, I was just typing my "guess the inactives" list when this came in. These are all the guys who didn't practice yesterday, so pretty obvious.
EDIT: I guess Chung did practice yesterday but we already knew he didn't travel with the team.

Per Rotoworld:
Unlikely he will play, but I wouldn't put it completely out yet.
Amendola listed as "questionable" on injury report, which is construed as 50/50.
As for Chung, nothing surprises me anymore. NASA the other day was reported to have dicovered a Black Hole. We beat NASA to the punch. All of us here recognize well that the defensive backfield for this team has been a Black Hole for a half dozen years, consuming all manner of matter in the form of draft picks, payroll and so forth, and yielding nothing.

WTF happened to Dowling? Christ.
He had some kind of thigh injury late in the 4th last week.

Are these two thoughts related?
I hope not but the fact that the dime is going to be DMC/Wilson/Denard/Arrnington/Moore and Cole or Ebner is not good.

Not wholly.
Basically, what Shelter said. Our secondary sucked to begin with and now we're down three guys.

Sure, but what should make anyone believe Dowling was any good when healthy? I don't care how 'long' he is, I'll take my chances with Cole.

Lloyd is now questionable with a knee. Gronk and Welker are gonna be busy.
I can't take anything away from the injury report. If he's practicing I'd assume he's a full go until I see otherwise.

- Offensive skill players: Hernandez is out. Lloyd, Welker, Edelman, and Gronkowski are all questionable. They'll all be active, and presumably all play, but how close to 100%? Hey, at least Hoomanawanui is off the injury report. Bolden also out, though the other RB are OK.
- Offensive line: No one's out, though Mankins, Vollmer, and McDonald are all questionable. Mankins was inactive last week. Is he better now, or are they just other guys who are more hurt? Connolly barely played last week but that appears to be illness-related; he wasn't on the injury report this week.
- Secondary: Chung, Gregory, and Dowling out. Moore is questionable. Likely another week of McCourty at safety again.
- Special Teams: White, Scott, Bolden, and Chung all play at least two ST units normally but are out this week. Is Tarpinian ready to play a big ST role? Can Wilson or McCourty play on multiple ST units and still play every snap on D? Can questionable guys Edelman, Moore, and Gronkowski too hurt to take bigger roles in this area?

I think Walt Coleman is doing the game.

Nantz/Simms.
Though it would kick ass to have Martin Tyler do it.

@jeffphowe: It was hilarious. The whole crowd chanted, "Spike the mike!" over and over until Gronk wound up and deafened Trafalgar Square.

anyone else going to the game? i'll be there. Would love to see the Pats at a media session or fan event. I live in Dublin now so this will be the first time seeing them live in a few years.
btw, they definately will not be acclimated to the time zone. Rule of thumb is 1 day for every hour difference. it's an afternoon game though so they should be just fine.
I went to the game back in '09. I'd strongly recommend going to the Green Man Pub for pre game tailgating. Quick walk from Wembley and the crowd there was great.

It is the national game, that's the funny part. The broadcast rules are that fucked up.

No, meant making the American Bowl a special event, possibly a 10am kickoff in the us...the entire country sees this, them the normal 1p 4p games. Or, having it on a Saturday. Or, back loading the day so this is the only 1p game.

The Pats are probably the most popular team in the UK and Europe as a whole, mainly because many fans started following the game in the last 10 years and guess who the best team is.Lots of pats gear seen today around London. Not a single rams jersey or hat. Unless they fuck with the pa, should be essentially a home game.
Most other people support a team that was good in the 80s - the Niners, Raiders, Dolphins, Redskins, Bears and Giants all have their fanbases over here too. The Rams probably aren't as bad as the Jaguars (I'm expecting that game to be something like 90% 49er fans) and I did see one or two jerseys yesterday, but that's all.
I will second the Green Man as a good place to have a pre-game drink. Also if you're going take the train from Marylebone station, it's a lot less bonkers.

If they're going to shift the schedule for it then they're going to have to start scheduling marquee matchups like Ravens-Steelers or Packers-Giants and I don't think the league wants to ship those games overseas.
Question about the home field advantage, even if the place is full of Pats fans, do they know to be quiet when the offense is on the field? Seems like a weird American football quirk that would be hard to pick up on.

I'm sorry, but is there any way we can change the title of this forum from Game Threats to game Threads!?
I have been wondering about this as well. Was it a typo or is there an actually threat?
