Oh NOAA!!!
I think the best we can hope for is that the Baltimore/MFY game gets postponed until tomorrow as well. Then at least both our rotations are screwed up.

Guesses as to the MFY rotation if they get rained out?

It's ironic both are in rain delays right now. The winner of all this?
The Cleveland Indians, who are probably watching 'Major League' right now!

Randy could probably go on 3 days rest, so nothing would really need to change. Is there anyone in the Yanks rotation that is as able as Wakefield is to come back on short rest?

In the case of Boston, if there is a doubleheader tomorrow, one of the games would maybe have to be started by Dinardo.
Why wouldn't Schilling and Wakefield pitch? Then Schilling pitches Sunday on normal rest.

Sterling just said on the Yankee broadcast that if the Red Sox and/or Yankees are rained out, both games will be made up next Monday afternoon. He sounded as if he had talked to MLB officials before saying it.
Really?
Then we could have a makeup game on Monday, a 1 game division playoff on Tuesday, and 1 game WC playoff on Wednesday?
Yikes. Lenny DiNardo in Game 1 of the ALDS.

But I can certainly see why they'd go that way---it's a mess to put a doubleheader into the last week.

Do you really think he could go on 3 days rest? I mean, he's being held together with spit and glue at this point isn't he?Randy could probably go on 3 days rest, so nothing would really need to change.
If the MFYs need to re-shuffle and use their 'lesser' pitchers against BAL, we might hold out the hope that the Birds actually manage to win a game or two. Then even though the MFYs come into the weekend aligned as they wanted to be, they're maybe back a game or so...wishful thinking?
Yeah. But it's all I got

MLB really should, given the way everything stands right now, make sure either both are played or both arent. It would be a travesty given the schedule and standings if it comes down any other way.
Are you saying that MLB should not allow the MFYs to play because we're rained out?

In the case of Boston, if there is a doubleheader tomorrow, one of the games would maybe have to be started by Dinardo.
On the opening of the NESN broadcast, Remy/Orsillo said that the plan was to pitch Schilling and Wakefield in any DH. Wakefield would then start Sat. on 3 days rest, and then Schilling on Sunday.
And I bet Sterling didn't talk to anybody before he spouted that "Monday makeup" shit, just because he's a blowhard. MLB has as many playoff possibilities as they have ever had, I doubt they'll make these up on Monday.

I guess with the radar looking bad they don't want to start and then stop, either.

Also, because it means sticking around an extra day, and an extra travel day for Tor, the "other" team (Balt/Tor) almost certainly will not raise a stink about a doubleheader this week---for some reason I feel like there's a player's association issue there, potentially. Could be wrong there.

One thing about a doubleheader is that it's pretty easy to see Toronto being less than 100% focused in the second game. But it doesn't matter---that's what the schedule now is, to just have to play it that way.
