TELEVISION: This week's game will be broadcast by the Patriots Preseason Television Network and can be seen in every New England state as well as Hawaii. The network's flagship station is WBZ-TV Channel 4 in Boston. Veteran CBS broadcaster Don Criqui provides play-by-play and is joined by three-time NFL Pro Bowler and CBS analyst Randy Cross.

RADIO: 98.5 FM, The Sports Hub, is the flagship station for the Patriots Radio Network. A complete listing of the network's 40 stations can be found in this press release. Play-by-play broadcaster Gil Santos is in his 36th season as the voice of the Patriots and will call the action.

BILL BELICHICK IN THE PRESEASON
Bill Belichick has compiled an overall record of 38-36 (.514) in the preseason, including a 27-22 (.541) mark as Patriots head coach. Belichick's teams have been .500 or above in 15 of his 17 previous preseasons as a head coach in the NFL.

Numbers of the new guys to watch:

95 Jones
66 Bequette
45 Hightower
27 Wilson
28 Gregory

Any chance there will be a video feed of the game for out-of-towners? I don't really feel like forking over $20 for the Preseason Live package when two of the games are already on nationally.

At the very least, will online streams of 98.5 work, or does the NFL blackout preseason audio as well?

Finally! That gap between game 7 against the Heat and tonight's kickoff felt eternal this year.

If you can wait, NFL network replays all the games every week.

Just looking through the Pats game thread, the first two pages extend back to the 2008 season finale, so there may not be one created specifically for the 2012 season.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will play tonight against the Saints.

That was a little bit in question considering Brady did not play in last year's exhibition opener against the Jaguars. But that was after the lockout and the Patriots weren't really settled, especially along the offensive line.

Brady played 17 snaps -- two series -- against the Saints in the 2010 opener.

Is he saying the OL is currently some sort of settled? Still think it's worthless to play him tonight.

FWIW, yesterday Curren said Jones has been the biggest winner of camp and Mallett and Koppen are the big losers.

Breer and I were discussing that over Twitter today. He says he should play tonight just to get a few snaps with these guys just in case the Missing 3 don't get back. You need some continuity. If he plays more than 3 series I'll be shocked.

That is the first I have heard about Mallett struggling would like to hear why he thinks that. Everything I have heard up to now has been generally positive. Besides Koppen I would have guessed McCourty has been the biggest loser.

There's the Annual Brandon Spikes watch.

Give Brady 2 series like last year's opener and get him out of there.

Players to watch for me:
  • Jones in pass rush
  • Hightower in coverage (too bad Graham won't play)
  • Cannon at right tackle (hmmmmm)
  • Dowling as primary cover guy
  • Carpenter's reps
  • Cunningham's last stand?
  • Bolden/Francis - the annual UDFA watch

Same, but I'd add:
  • The Backup QBs - Theres been a lot of mixed reports on them. I want to see them myself.
  • Tavon Wilson- Who? Hopefully he'll look good.
  • Nate Ebner - Dark horse.
  • Defensive schemes and formations - There may be some changes in philosophy.
I'm firmly in the Francis camp FWIW.
