The last two evening's losses hit me in the gut harder than any others have so far this season.... I felt like after taking 2/3 from the Tigers, we could sweep or 3/4 from the Twins and we'd be in the thick of it and on a roll. Losing those two sounded an awful lot like the season slipping away....
What's the draft looking like? Maybe there's a David Price out there that will fall a few slots to us?

Yeah we're drinking and we're dancing
But there's nothing really happening
And the place is dead as heaven on a Saturday night
...
And I lift my glass to the awful truth
Which you can't reveal to the ears of youth
Except to say it isn't worth a dime

Edit:
And I loved you when our love was blessed
And I love you now there's nothing left
But sorrow and a sense of overtime
And I missed you since the place got wrecked
And I just don't care what happens next
Looks like freedom but it feels like death
It's something in between, I guess
It's CLOSING TIME

I'm not quite ready to give up hope but I think it is time to start seeing what the shuttle guys have in the bigs. Give Lavarnway half or more of the starts and get rid of one of the catchers (preferably Shoppach imo). Kalish gets all the starts in RF with Ross moving to LF and Crawford getting surgery. Do what ever the hell you want at short because I'm not that confident in any of them having sustained success. Shut Doubront down when he reaches his limit and give as many starts to Morales as you can.

If anyone is still holding out hope for the playoffs this year as I am, BP says the number is 10.9 percent. The Sox affiliates (who didn't have to face the likes of Jamey Carroll) fared better as all 7 won with Bradley and Brentz homering and Bogaerts collecting three hits. Is there a better name in the olympics than Ranomi Kromomidjojo?

Part of the problem is that this is who has been playing for the Sox most of the season. We've run the Pawtucket Sox out there for the most part all season. What was the number 23 guys with 27 trips to the DL this season. That is a Sox record and the most in the ML this season. So I'd say we've got a pretty good look at the future and it's here.

I wasn't so much talking about this year, more so that hopefully more major league ABs will make them better players and the core of the future team. Might as well see what you have since the vets they would be replacing aren't doing much better.

This team should throw in the towel. A day doesn't go by without a player having to be held out of the lineup for some issue - preventive or otherwise.

If they were to throw in the towel and utterly give up on any chance of making the playoffs, then they would send out a lineup like this:

1. Ryan Kalish, CF
2. Carl Crawford, LF
3. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
4. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
5. Cody Ross, RF
6. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, DH
7. Mike Aviles, SS

9. Nick Punto, 3B

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- For the second time in three days, New England Patriots players were involved in a full-team scuffle at training camp.
The scrap was one of two that occurred on Friday, and prompted a peeved coach Bill Belichick to order all players to run three laps around the field, from goal post to goal post.

I wonder what would happen if BV ordered all players to run from home plate to the triangle and back three times

Well, most of them seem to be divas, so those "divas" would bitch and moan to ownership.... though I would not be against BV doing such a thing. But with our luck our whole team would end up on the DL tripping over something
