I've been seeing some pretty cool pictures show up on various news sites and figured it might be worth starting a thread where we can post up pictures from the olympics

I'm old enough to remember when the movie Friday the 13th came out and it's now infamous closing scene scared the crap out of us. This is worse and I won't sleep tonight now. Thanks

The Olympic City Project

That is incredible! Pictures from the 1936 Olympic Village I understand, but some are as recent as Beijing and Athens. This should be crossposted to the "Why can't we do this more often" thread.

I really question the ability of many cities to hold Games of this magnitude. The IOC is looking for new and "exotic" cities every time. They are wrong.

I've actually been the to bobsled track in Sarajevo, and it's even worse than what is shown in those pictures. Of course, there's a pretty good excuse for that one falling into disrepair.

Well yeah, that's for sure. I remember Samaranch (sp?) touring the war zone there and visiting the Olympic Stadium site, that was a tear inducing scene.

BTW I am looking all over the site and cannot get more pictures, are they available?

If you're in NYC, there is an exhibition for the next few days - that's about all I know. Here's the website: http://www.storefrontnews.org/

Here are a few of mine if you're interested. The first bunch is of pieces of the track, the last part is the tower (which was used as for shelter during the war). A lot of the track is missing in places and
