Coolstandings is awesome right now. They aren't that impressed by Baltimore (of course that run diff means smoke and mirrors, but still.)

Baltimore 52 48 .520 8.5 413 471 77.6 84.4 0.9 4.9 5.8
Tampa Bay 51 49 .510 9.5 412 405 80.9 81.1 2.3 13.9 16.3
Toronto 50 49 .505 10 496 477 81.4 80.6 3.9 14.3 18.1

Not exactly an intimidating lineup:

1. Jeter SS
2. Granderson CF
3. Teixeira 1B
4. Cano 2B
5. Jones LF
6. Nix 3B
7. Martin DH
8. Suzuki RF
9. Stewart C

I bet if Boston was 3 games behind NY, Swisher would be DHing today.

Not exactly an intimidating lineup

Lineup history vs Lester

1. Jeter SS (56 plate appearances): .365 BA/.411 OBP/.423 SLG 1 home run, 5 RBIs, 3 walks, 11 strikeouts
2. Granderson CF (2) .261/.320/.391, 1 HR, 3 RBIs, 1 walk, 11 strikeouts
3. Teixeira 1B (41): .243/.317/.351, 1 double, 1 HR, 4 RBIs, 3 walks, 14 strikeouts
4. Cano 2B (51): .255/.294/.340, 4 doubles, 4 RBIs, 3 walks, 9 strikeouts
5. Jones LF (30): .318/.467/.455, 1 HR, 6 RBIs, 7 walks, 8 strikeouts
6. Nix 3B (16): .357/.438/.857, 1 double, 2 HR, 3 RBIs, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts
7. Martin DH (11): .286/.545/.286, 2 RBIs, 3 walks, 2 strikeouts
8. Suzuki RF (3): .276/.300/.483, 2 HR, 3 RBIs, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts
9. Stewart C (2): .000/.000/.000, 1 RBI, 1 strikeout

Nix and Jones has a bit of pop, but other than that not impressive history. Of course, this is a different Lester.

Rain delay.

Hoping for a rain out....

Get Swisher in the lineup and either Stewart or Martin out.

That Stewart HR broke the alltime club record for most HRs in the first 100 games of the season at 157, previously held by the Mantle/Maris 1961 team.

Fucking Sabathia. This game had reverse lock written all over it.

Thank God the Red Sox are still a million games out.

Edit: Not over yet!

Jesus, Jeter, you got a gift on 1-2, then you watched strike 3 a second time, then you still complained.

NY has lost the DH spot, Soriano is due up first in the bottom of the inning, so presumably we'll be seeing Swisher there.

He didn't think it was hit as hard as it was, then he turned the wrong way and couldn't quite get it.

Too much Joe Girardi to combat the Rem luck. Joe thinks you have to reinvent the wheel every time you see a lefty.....ya know, like DH'ing your below the Mendoza line catcher. At least he didn't have an inning where he used 5 pitchers to record 2 outs.....
