I already hate NBC's coverage and it hasn't even started yet.

NBC delays the start 4 hours and then kicks off the program with a 25 minutes of NOTHING? And a bad Ryan Seacrest interview that is wasted here and garbage from Matt Lauer and Meredith "I look 100 years of age" Viera? Why run this thing until 1am? Baffling.
I already hate NBC's coverage and it hasn't even started yet.
Between that and the massive volume of political ads I'm getting here in DC I'm about to DVR it and watch it tomorrow

Suck. My. Dick.
Thought Branagh was gonna go all St. Crispin's Day on us... Fail. Color me unimpressed early on. Bummed.

Edit: The first 45 mins isn't the best...it got a lot better IMO. But i think the ceremony isn't for everyone. It gets better as soon as Mr Bean showed up.

Either Belfast is going to attack Ireland, or Danny wanted a song titled after himself.

So you guys don't get it live in the USA? That's kinda fucked up if it's the case.
Nope...watching it on delay to feed the US TV beast. Your thoughts give one hope.... Here comes 007!

Don't take this the wrong way but - it really is a Danny Boyle production. It has an intimacy and there's nice detail. There's nothing about military power or the strength of a nation - nor should there be...unlike in China four years ago...or if the USA were to do it. It's smaller, but not small.

I all sincerity, I trust you. I know I don't appreciate it all, bit I really want to, if that makes sense.

Suck. My. Dick.
To be fair, the lyrics were written by an Englishman. And my proudly British grandfather (from Londonderry) had it at his funeral.
So, uh, suck mine.

Jingoism and Olympic zealotry interfering with rational thought.
Carry on.

Dude I didn't either but they have soem well prepped guys in the booth explaining what everything was all about. But the music stuff i thought was cool cos the UK has made great music so I liked that stuff a lot. Dizzy Rascal is from the East End and Bonkers is a great tune so that was a good bit. But Mr Bean steals the show.

Sadly, the US TV commentators are the same folks that announce a holiday parade, so I fear our contextual support lags what you have enjoyed.

it was intimate , free flowing, more human, no rigid accuracy ala Beijing 4 years ago.
The sound track was perfection and the lightening of the torch is my favorite

you nailed it. I was thinking the commentary sounds so much like the Macy's T-Day Parade.

The comments re music as a key element to focus on really helps. Sounds obvious, but fletch is right... It's a clear UK strength and really helps to make things more enjoyable by connecting the notes to some of the poorly-explained (by the commentators) goings on.
Ok... Bean... Hush up...
