$2.25M I believe, SEA is covering the other $6M or so.

Joel Sherman says this could turn out like the Pudge Rodriguez Yankee episode in 2008. Lot of hope, then you find out the guy has nothing left.

He will accrue more SB and will probably show a little bit of power, and very well might wind up back in Seattle next year if the likes of Carlos Peguero, Casper Wells or Trayvon Robinson don't take advantage of playing time in his absence.

Maybe not, given what I saw in Nick's column this am:

The Suzuki acquisition is intriguing, as he should benefit from playing at Yankee Stadium. He agreed to waive his 10-5 rights after requesting a deal about three weeks ago, according to a major league source.

Best case scenario- change of scenery gives him somewhat of a revival with the bat (v. righties, at least) and he wraps up his career with a ring.
Worst case scenario- he still provides defense and baserunning, which alone is an upgrade over Dewayne Wise/Jayson Nix.

I love Ichiro, but man it's weird seeing him in anything but a Mariner uni. I hope he sticks around for another couple years to get his 4,000th. He's 188 shy.

Ichiro batting leadoff with ARod out of the lineup. Jeter's batting second. That's crazy.

Update on Ichiro's splits with Yankees vs. Seattle. He hit .322 for NY (.261 in Seattle) with a .340 OBP in NY. Slugged .454 with NY. OPS of .794 vs. .642 for Seattle. OPS+ of 114 vs. 84 with Seattle.
He is the team's full-time left fielder heading into the playoffs.

Yeah, Safeco really killed his game this year. And he really likes Yankee Stadium

Safeco - 197 PA, .216/.259/.292 (includes 3 games with Yankees @ Safeco)
Yankee - 139 PA, .338/.363/.531 (includes 3 games with Seattle @ YS)
All else - 327 PA, .299/.312/.373

I could def see the Yankees resigning him for RF when they let Swisher walk.
