Is the reason no one started a thread because the Yankees were losing?

Anyway, it's now tied thanks to Cano's home run in the ninth.

Hello, fellow insomniac! Cano's HR a bullet down the LF line, 10 feet fair. CC and others shaking their heads in awe at Cano's bat work.

I haven't been paying attention the whole game, so I'm not sure. For some reason Ibanez went in to play defense, so perhaps Swisher got hurt?

And my streak of never winning a game thread continues.

LOL A's win

MLB standings are all messed up this year.... PIT doing really well, Nats doing really well, A's doing really well..... would be a nice change of playoffs to have the Nats and PIT (and possibly the A's) in the same playoffs one year

Yep, 3 run streak is over, and Swisher left mid-game with what ended up being a 'mild left hip flexor', day to day.

Cook never gave up a HR in his (brief) career before last night, now he's given up two.

The Yankees forfeited the DH because Cano started the game at DH, and had to move to 2nd base after Girardi PH for Jayson Nix. Since the Yankees don't have a 2nd backup infielder, they didn't really have any other options, unless they wanted to stick Eric Chavez there for a few innings, but he has no experience at 2B (he was the one who PH for Nix).

Girardi, I think rightly, doesn't mind giving up the DH on occasion in the latter part of a game.
