I know that your philanthropy is already taxed with the other fundraiser going on at the same time, but please help spread the word about Sabermetrics, Scouting, and the Science of Baseball on August 4th and 5th at BU. Here's a sample facebook post you can use:
Help me spread the word about Sabermetrics, Scouting, and the Science of Baseball (saberseminar.com), which is happening at BU on August 4th and 5th (in only 2 weeks)! 100% charity event for The Jimmy Fund - every ticket sold goes directly to cancer research! Come talk baseball with Bobby V and reps from 6 Major League Teams!
And here's a Tweet you can use:
Help RT Sabermetrics, Scouting, and Science of Baseball (saberseminar.com) - Aug 4/5 in Boston! 100% Charity Event for @TheJimmyFund
I know people think it's stupid to spread the word through social media, but EVERY TIME YOU TWEET AND FACEBOOK, WE SELL TICKETS.
Our biggest problem is that people don't know about us. It's stupid, but it's insanely hard to get publicity for an event like this.
We are very close to being sold out. Help us get to our goal and fight cancer today. It costs you NOTHING to tweet or facebook post.

Plus, I got a nifty run expectancy chart that explains why I think we should all band together to stop bunting.

If you're reading this, and you're thinking about going: GO. Trust me. I wouldn't necessarily think that folks reading this board would be hesitant to go to an event like this, but you never know. Sometimes even people who consider themselves stats-friendly hear "seminar" and think, hey, I like watching and following baseball, and sure, it probably occupies more time in my life than it ought to, but a seminar? Really? Well, it's a LOT of fun. I personally had several moments when the light bulb clicked on for me; it's been much easier for me to check out charts on brooksbaseball.net, I watch batters' swings with more understanding of where power comes from, and I have a better understanding of the incredible extent to which modern defensive metrics try to account for various fielding scenarios. And I'm an English major and a photographer, not a mathematician! Presentations are fascinating, and they felt just the right length--long enough to present detailed information, short enough that you wanted a little more (this is a good thing in an all-day event!).
Plus, I got a nifty run expectancy chart that explains why I think we should all band together to stop bunting.
Which brings us to the "official" shirt of the Saber Seminar.

Does that shirt have a run expectancy chart on the back?
If it does, I would pay a lot of money for it.

No, but that could be arranged.Does that shirt have a run expectancy chart on the back?

There should be some really cool shirts and artwork there with both the new design for this year and the Table of Baseball Elements from last year.

Will there be a way to buy stuff online? I don't think I can make the conference, but would definitely be interested in that stuff.

We're gonna see what we can do about making things available online. A lot will depend on what's left after the seminar. Here's an example of the great art work that John Kenyon is doing for this. Will there be a way to buy stuff online? I don't think I can make the conference, but would definitely be interested in that stuff.
