So, what happened here? Was he just rushed to the big leagues, or is it possible he just doesn't have what it takes? Did we trade the wrong outfielder?

Everyone knew he needed more AAA seasoning 2 years ago. Then he got hurt, never got it last year, then when he should have been getting it now everyone was hurt and he was the only healthy option. 15 minor league games and then thrown into the majors after missing so much time with major injuries was freakin craziness and shouldn't be used to judge anything.

This. And a lot of those 15 games weren't even in AAA. He needs the next 2 months in Pawtucket to get back to where he was 2 years ago, and we'll see him again when rosters expand. Hopefully he can be good enough over the rest of the season to solidify himself as the leading candidate for the RF job in 2013. I wouldn't read much into his performance over the past 3 weeks.

Too early to give up on Kalish like we gave up on so many others who are now doing very well. Kalish definitely looked rusty out there. Let's see how he looks NEXT year. Good to see Sweeney back.

Kalish only got promoted because we had no CFs. He didn't look ready, but showed promise.

Here's hoping he gets the time to play in AAA, hone his skills and make a push for the big league club next year when the Sox might actually be better positioned to win again.

Away, get thee away; good friend, be gone:
Thy comforts can do me no good at all;
Thee they may hurt.

On my list of everything that has gone wrong in 2012, I reserve a special place for the complete and utter mess our injuries have have caused in terms of minor league progression schedules.

Edit: And here's to seeing him in September (as we rest up for the Wild Card game...)
