BABIP hath not forsaken thee, neither hath he been displeased.
And surely the Future shall be better for thee than the Past,
And in the end shall BABIP be bounteous to thee and thou be satisfied.

You need O-U-T to spell PUNTO. But at least he backs up the SS position in case Aviles gets hurt. After a few days of consideration I'm wondering why Lillibridge is on this team at all.
Words that come from Punto:
Out: as in a forgone conclusion.
Punt: as in "Oh Nick's in, we're punting this game."
Pout: as in "Punto screwed up the bunt and now I'm forced to pout."
Pun: as in "Nick is a joke. Not a funny haha joke, but a sad joke."
Nut: as in "punch".
PU: as in "Nick sticks like a 10 day bloated corpse in this intense east coast heat wave."
Not: as in "Nick Punto should NOT be asked to anything that has the possibility of being slightly beyond the reach of his vast un-skill set."
O: as in "O SHIT WE JUST SIGNED NICK FUCKING PUNTO TO A TWO YEAR DEAL?!?!>!*&&$^W)&$^YHFGW^W)#*()#(FUCKKKKKKKKK."

First laugh I've had all day.
He is right though.
Aceves drives me batty. He will probably have a shut down inning today and the day after hit the bases full. Hell he might hit someone today, but still get out of it.
eta: Punto's page is public. Would it be mean to tweet-harass him?

I don't follow. Do you mean Aceves is going to cold-cock Punto and/or Kalish in 1,2, 3. . . . ?This team is setting Mass General records for facepalming-related injuries.
Apropos of nothing: Youkilis fans, the White Sox are on ESPN tonight at 7 pm.

Gomez making his MLB debut at 3B (71 career minor league games at 3B...31 errors) with the best groundball pitcher in the organization on the mound. This won't go well.
Is there any doubt Coco will test him immediately with a bunt?

I'm sure all those errors are due to the crappy fields in the minor leagues. He'll be fine.
And Cook's ground balls won't get by Punto at second base. He'll be fine.
Here's hoping that Gonzales extends that awesome hitting streak, hopefully with another single.

Pedroia is said to be "stiff" by Valentine and in need of a day off.
If by "stiff" he means "playing like a stiff." .210/.282/.305 since beginning of June.

Why don't we expect, or at least hope that Cook has another exceptional game in him? BTW, any report of Lester leaving something on Aceves', or Punto's, or someone else's pillow (not a mint) last night? So today gets to be one of those days we hope Papi hits two 3-run bombs and we pray it's enough. Cool.

I think it's a little more likely the good player does something good than the terrible one does something good again.

If by "stiff" he means "playing like a stiff." .210/.282/.305 since beginning of June.
Also said it's the back of his thumb, not the inside - that's probably a "good" thing, since it means he probably just jammed the joint and didn't re-injure his adductor.
That being said, GO ON THE DL!

Probably a throw-day availability

We'll see. I didn't see his Seattle game, but Cook's sinker and his command were special, right? Can he repeat one or the other or both? I wonder if he throws the sinker by snapping his wrist like a curve, or gets it kind of naturally.I think it's a little more likely the good player does something good than the terrible one does something good again.

Imagine the shit storm if that comment or re-tweet or whatever was tied to Bobby Valentine.
Between his play and that comment, please send him down as soon as Ellsbury, Podsednik or Sweeney is available.

I can't believe Ryan Kalish, who has been the worst of all the Sox OFers getting any amount of playing time not named Byrd or McDonald, called out Aceves.
Imagine the shit storm if that comment or re-tweet or whatever was tied to Bobby Valentine.
Between his play and that comment, please send him down as soon as Ellsbury, Podsednik or Sweeney is available.
Ummm, I can't find Kalish re-tweeting this anywhere

Darnell McD is no Ballard. Is it possible they are doing this just to annoy us? If that hitting coach who taught Granderson to hit lefties teaches McD to hit righties, it will be a dark day for us RS fans.PeteAbe Darnell McDonald will join the# Yankees in Boston on Friday.
Belichick runs the Yankees now?
