The bullpen is leaking oil. Robertson finally has come back to earth after an otherworldly 2011 season. He got squeezed last night by the ump and never said a word about it afterwards. Boone Logan walked a .211 hitter to set the stage for Tampa's rally. Teixeira's first error of the season sealed the deal.
Joba was in the locker room last night, telling everyone how close he is to returning after throwing 40 pitches in front of Girardi over at the spring training complex earlier in the day. Girardi said he hopes to get him back by August.
This is a team that shrugs off tough losses and comes back to play hard the next night. Always has been. Tonight should be another nut-cutter, just like last night.
Meanwhile, the AL East contenders continue to lose when the Yanks lose. Baltimore got beat by Seattle and remains in a nose-dive. Oakland took care of Boston. The Yanks still lead by six games.
It's Nova vs. Shields tonight. Game is on MLB Network.
