Or they could have, you know, figured out a way to get games to end in 3 hours.
Less commercials would do it, but I don't think they would go for that.

I know this is in jest, but 60 Minutes gets its best ratings on doubleheader Sundays, so I don't think they'll care.60 Minutes has gotta be ripshit about this!

If the Pats aren't on, I don't even bother watching the other games on CBS or Fox. Redzone is the way to go. I would say it is worth subscribing to the NFL Network just for RedZone.
I feel the opposite; RedZone was kind of clever when I first saw it, but it gets old really fast and feels more like watching highlights than like watching football. I'd rather watch pretty much any non-blowout even if I don't really care about the teams involved.

There's no way the networks gave up 10 minutes of prime time Sunday night without getting something back.

Please. This just gives the networks 10 more minutes of ad time for the early games. You won't notice, probably, but it's enough to slip in another programming spot every break.

Well, they get 10 more minutes of football, which is something of value...

The football itself is only as valuable to the network as the ad revenue it generates.
NBC pays the NFL to air the games. The programming itself doesn't earn them anything.

False. Same commercial load as last year in all games.

I like this because there are few things more annoying than hearing "due to contractual obligations..." at 4:15. I also like less dead time before the Sunday night game.
I know this is in jest, but 60 Minutes gets its best ratings on doubleheader Sundays, so I don't think they'll care.
It's the rest of primetime schedule on CBS that is getting hosed, not 60 Minutes

Fine, but they're still getting ten extra minutes of prime time programming to run commercials in.
Whatever, everyone's happy.
