Well at least this item finally got a reply. I am sad because I think this means you don't like me.
But seriously - getting in shape through racing in something like a 5K is a great way to do it. It keeps you focused on achievable and tangible goals. And I am available every step of the way to coach you through the program and address any and all questions you may have about fitness.

Hildy - my sister is a PA so yes, in consultation with her I can work with someone with lymphedema.

I just started running again in the last 6 weeks, building up to being able to run 3 miles at a time. I'm really not interested in running races or running long distances (I'm a terrible runner) but wouldn't mind putting a plan together to get into a little better shape. In order, I'd like to be able to run a 5k (in distance, not an actual race) and continue to lose weight while starting to get more muscle involved (check the FATASS thread for more info). In reality, Marciano's thread would be more up my alley, but this shouldn't go unbidded.

I'm getting back into running after being constrained into taking a hiatus, and now I think I need a big project so as not to obsess about life. A half marathon for my half century should about do that. Plus I want to investigate the barefoot phenomenon, and KW is the expert round here on that....
