Yeah, 'mediocre' is definitely too strong, but his OPS allowed is up to .709, which is the highest it's been since 2004. He still hasn't quite been the same since that double rain delay game against SEA last 7/26, more of a #2 or #3 guy than an ace, which I don't think is an unfair criticism for the highest paid pitcher in baseball.

He's an ace, not infallible but a horse who eats up innings and accepts the role of leading the staff. I agree with Jon. It never hurts for any of your main starters to get a break in the middle of the summer, especially when the team is in first place.
No way. He's a number one pitcher. Looking around the AL, the only guy with that many IP who's noticably better is Verlander, who might be the best pitcher in all of baseball. Peavy's been good too but who wants to count on him staying healthy? Weaver's only thrown 75 IP, Sale 88.
You guys are nuts.
