I'd put my money on Brent Lillibridge. Hasn't had a great season, but he can play a few positions and was a quality player last year.

If they are getting a utility infielder back from them, Ramirez, Konerko, and Beckham are out. That leaves you Eduardo Escobar(or Mr. .660 minor league OPS), Morel(who is on the DL), and Orlando Hudson. Who the fuck else is there?

This feels like terrible value, but I guess they just wanted to get him out of town immediately. I have a feeling that he is going to be much better on the White Sox than we have seen so far.

On the plus side, I now get to have a little taste of Boston here in Chicago. I'm going to go to a lot more CWS games starting now.

Tom Caron just announced the White Sox will announce the deal after their game is over. So I'm guessing the utility player must be on the active roster. Lillibridge, Hudson or Escobar. If Morel, who is on the DL, I would think they could announce it.

Well, this trade is pretty indefensible, and I'm not sure what else there is to say. Zach Stewart blows. The Sox just got worse for no reason whatsoever.

Stewart not terribly appealing. Shine is gone from his time as top prospect in late 2000's. Fastball velocity has declined last few years (now sub 90 mph), K/9 only 5.9 at MLB level, SwStr% a below average 6.7% -- xFIP not a terrible 3.92 in 97.1 career IP (because he doesn't walk anyone-- 2.0 BB/9).

Of course, I am SHOCKED we are not getting Matt Garza.

Does this mean we didn't send any money to Chicago? If so, I'm much happier. If we paid more than a couple of million and only got Zach Stewart in return, I'm very disappointed.

Everyone realizes Youkilis is 33, only under contract through the end of the season, injury-prone, and has seen his OPS go 0.975, 0.833, 0.670 the last three years, right?

I'm also disappointed in Stewart, but not because I thought the Sox were going to do much better.
