It's too bad Hughes lost his HR streak last start, cause he's already got one today.

Ah, the return of the Phil Hughes I know and love -- at least in the first inning.

Martin Prado nods his head as he rounds the bases.

What is Hughes' record for number of home runs allowed in a game?

Never mind; Eppley is in to pitch.

The makings of a rally here, perhaps?

Chavez crushed that home run, and then a nice at bat to work a walk for Martin. He's looked a lot better the last couple of games.

Edit: Or not.

And then Nix was robbed by Bourn.

I know Jeter homered today, but it's still pretty silly that he's DHing against a RHP with his .691 OPS against them. This would be a nice game to have Branyan on the team for.

So day games and this stadium and this weather leads to a LOT of home runs.

4 home runs for each team off of the opposing starter. Don't see that very often.

So far in this game for both teams combined: two singles, one double, eight home runs. Yankee Stadium, whoo!

And not just eight HR, but eight straight to account for nine straight runs. After Freddie Freeman hit his 2-run job, the next 7 hit were all solo shots. That's gotta be a record.

Sadly, this team hits best when nobody's on base. A-Rod comes up with first-and-third and one out and you know the DP grounder is on the way. 32 stinking million for this?

This is the kind of game the 1990 Yankees lose.

It's so hard to pick a favorite. I'm going with the trashy but proud Staten Island girlfriend.
