Two pitchers born in 1975 (Hudson is 5 months younger) face off in the finale here, although these teams see each other again in the Bronx next week.

Kuroda has had quite a bit of success against the Braves in the past, Hudson not as much against the Yankees he'll likely see tomorrow. Kuroda has been on a roll his last three starts, only 2 ERs in 22 IPs, and Hudson threw a complete game shutout in his last start. Hudson's had some ankle issues, so will be pitching on 7 days rest, and Kuroda of course left his last start after taking a line drive off his ankle.

Jeter hitting some balls hard again the last few days, he belted a double to right center to start the game and A-Rod brought him in with a single up the middle. Michael Kay said NY is undefeated this year when A-Rod drives in a run, and I'm too lazy to check the truth of that.

It's in the third now, they're playing through a good amount of rain currently. Kuroda got out of a bases loaded, one out situation last inning, striking out Hudson (silly NL rules) and getting Bourn to ground to second.

Jimmy Carter is there and wearing a 1999 World Series hat. Just awesome.

Wow, Kuroda gets out of another jam (man on second, no one out, middle of the order up) by King Chipper Jones swinging on a 94 MPH fastball that looked like it was right down the middle and somehow totally fooled him (terrible swing).

Russell Martin's cERA has to be off the charts this month, well below 2 for June, since he catches everyone but CC.

Kuroda at 55 pitches after 3 innings, Girardi's first reliever will probably give us an idea of who will go down for Robertson tomorrow, Phelps (to stretch him out to be ready to start again) or Eppley. Phelps hasn't pitched in 11 days because the starters have been doing so well.

Mets get to David Price in the 5th, up 3-0 now behind the force of nature known to us humans as RA Dickey.

McCann blasts one for a 2-1 lead, he's been belting the ball all series and hasn't had much to show for it until that.

Braves used a bloop and a blast to go ahead.

Hudson looking very good tonight. But there's still plenty of time.

There's a bloop and a blast for the good guys. God, I love Curtis Granderson.

If he gets a ball up in the air to RF, it's usually gone. Best lefty pull hitter for the Yanks since Maris. Reggie hit them out anywhere from right to even left-center. Granderson is more a dead pull hitter.

Who's going to pitch the 7th? Must be killing Robertson to be with the team and not eligible to pitch.

How many times tonight have the Braves left the trying run in scoring position? 6?

Braves have left 8 runners in scoring position. That's incredible.

Braves are 3 for 23 over the last two nights with runners in scoring position. Should have won both games and looks like they're gonna lose them both.

Go F*ck yourself Atlanta

Swisher just missed that pitch by at least two feet.

Damn, off the bat I thought that'd be past a diving Jeter, but they had him shifted up the middle.

McCann continuing the Braves ineptitude by swinging at a ball at his adams apple right at Jeter.

The braves really don't have someone to pinch run for Larry with two outs in the 9th? this is the NL isn't it?

what's even more infuriating is the Yanks miss Strasburg by a day.

And they missed RA Dickey last weekend by one day. When you're hot ...

The Yankees are about to get a huge break from the schedule makers. A series at Natstown, and then 10 of 13 at home, with a series vs the Mets mixed in. The Yankees won't leave the northeast against until July 2nd.

Between the homestands and the series in Queens, the Yankees won't have to leave NYC for 2 weeks.

Don't forget, they're playing well, too. Pitching especially well. You see the difference in NL parks against NL lineups. The Yanks don't seem to miss the DH because they rotate guys at that position. Their roster is put together nicely. And they get Robertson back for Friday's game.

Wait, so they're the ones going to Wrigley? :) Pretty sure every NL team on their schedule this year was over .500, their NL Central team was the Reds.

NY has given up a total of 11 runs in the last 8 games Martin has caught (so all but the two Sabathia starts). That is incredible.

They will also get Dickey two starts from now, FWIW. They seem to have more trouble this year with the Mike Minors and Ronnie Paulinos of the world than guys like Verlander, King Felix, Johan Santana and Jared Weaver, all of whom they've blasted this season.

Nice win, this weekend in NatsTown should be great. Presumably Wingack will be at at least one of the games, I guess the only question is who will he be rooting for? :)

Ronny Paulino is a catcher :P I'd hope he wouldn't give the Yankees too much trouble.

Heh, Felipe. Ronny might have a shutdown long relief appearance in him against NY, though.
