Nava missed Sunday's game at the last minute due to what was called a "left hand injury". Post game Bobby V said Nava had a left THUMB injury and took a cortisone shot there. Nava on the other hand wouldn't really get into too much. When asked about it, was kind of evasive. Just wants to play on Monday. What gives????

That sucks. Can anyone on this team stay healthy?

At least Kalish seems ready if they need him.

Someone got hurt? Must be the fault of the "crack medical staff". AMIRITE?!!??!?

Hard to say exactly what this might be - if he got a cortisone injection into part of his hand, he probably sprained any one of the small joints in the hand or fingers (including the thumb), so hopefully he'll be back quickly. If it were something like his UCL, he wouldn't be getting an injection.

Freaking hands.

In other markets, is this just the kind of thing where a player doesn't start and another player does and no one really notices or cares and then the guy comes back the next day and no one even hears about a cortisone shot, etc.?

There's other markets?

For real, though, I am as Red Sox-centric as they get, so I'm glad this question was posed. I realize part of the problem is that I can't wrap my brain around the ridiculous rash of injuries afflicting this team this year. But this isn't football, why all the mystery? If you know what it is, you know. If you don't, you don't. What's the harm in shooting straight about it? Or is it just good old-fashioned....

....medical ignorance? ( ;) )

How do these questions go with other teams?
