Kraus is a 5-foot-11, 185 pound pitcher from Oregon City, Ore., who posted a 7-6 record with a 2.03 ERA and 61 strikeouts through 111 innings in 16 starts during his senior year.

Kraus also had success in the Cape Cod League, finishing with a 3-1 record with a 3.60 ERA and 13 strikeouts through 20 innings pitched. He has good command of his pitches, only walking 14 in his 102.2 innings pitched with Portland, and he issued just one walk in his 20 innings pitched with Hyannis in the Cape Cod League.

As for what Kraus features from the mound, the 22-year-old has a fastball in the mid-80s.

Kraus is on the smaller side and doesn't throw hard. He enjoys giving up a lot of hits (but not homers) and not walking many.

Kraus was promoted to Greenville on 8/10 after posting a 2.61 ERA in ten appearances with Lowell. In 11 innings with Greenville he has zero walks and nine strikeouts, a sub-1.00 WHIP and an ERA of 1.59. Overall, two walks and 17 strikeouts in 21.2 innings.
