If anyone didn't get the memo, Ladrian is the love child of luckysox, a God-fearing lesbian, and me, a dumbass. With our powers combined, we provided Clay Buchholz with a CG shutout. And Boston provided me with enough beer to not remember most of it. That being said...

Roaming center field for the 2031 Sox, a semi-lesbian God-fearing masher by the name of Ladrian. Book it.

The greatest trick Ladrian ever pulled was convincing the world (s)he didn't exist.

Strasburg doesn't pitch very deep into games and the Nats' bullpen is sillier than ours.

WIN!

He did go 7.0 innings in his last start (June 2 vs. ATL; tied for his season high for IP with two April starts) with a stellar line of 4 H, 0 R, O BB, 9 K on 90 pitches. But he didn't go more than 5.0 innings in his three previous starts; giving up 4 ER in two of them.

Here's hoping the bats are patient tonight!

Edit: Also FWIW, Harper hasn't been hitting particularly well away from Nationals Park this year:

Split G PA AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BAbip
Home 18 79 67 12 19 5 2 3 9 11 14 .284 .392 .552 .945 .320
Away 17 74 67 11 18 2 2 2 5 6 11 .269 .324 .448 .772 .291

And ESPN reports that he is DTD with a sore back - but refuses (simply refuses) to miss tonight's game. (The yout' of America does heal quickly, however.)

I think what's interesting is that Harper isn't getting the walks outside Nats Park -- I wonder if he's approaching his ABs differently or if it's just the small sample size

Anticipating Ladrian's positive mojo, and to continue the winning theme, I propose we immediately begin taking up a collection to get K F'ing P and lars10 a hotel room tonight so they can just go ahead already and consumate whatever they had going on in the Port Cellar yesterday. Their love child "Lenny" can lead us to victory tomorrow.

(see thread Will the NBA Address Its Biggest Problem?, Posts 742-751; I don't recall ever before seeing a swordfight so quickly turn into a "sword" fight. Impressive. Almost erotic.)

Nava is the right choice to lead off, consider the preparation he put in

Red Sox left fielder Daniel Nava, who has reached base safely in 17 of his last 30 plate appearances and is batting .400 (8-for-20) with four doubles and four walks during that six-game stretch, is looking forward to facing Strasburg.

Nava said he'll watch video and talk to teammates Nick Punto, Cody Ross and Marlon Byrd, all who have faced the right-hander in the past.

Accrording to bRef, Punto has never faced Strasburg. Ross is 1 for 5 with 2 Ks. Byrd is 1 for 3 with 1 K. Podsednick is 0 for 4 with 2 Ks. So definitely talk to Byrd!

I'm so 50/50 on IL.

I love seeing new players and having things mixed up, but I absolutely can't stand losing the DH and the unbalanced schedule.

That year where Bartolo Colon was pitching well until he strained something batting still makes me mad.

This might be the first inter-league series I have looked forward to since it's inception. It may also be the last one.

I don't think Strasburg finishes the 5th and expect he will go to bed tonight thanking the good lord the Nats are in the NL East and not the AL East.,
