I'm strangely calm about having to beat these MFers in Miami. In fact, in many ways, this is even better. The Heat pain will be that much more intense and the excuses more difficult to mouth. I do feel badly for the Celtics fans who walked into the Garden last night expecting a party, especially for those who traveled long distances to be on site. But other than that, this is good stuff.

Having to listen to Mike Breen and Jeff Van Gundy for one more game is another story. When is the ambient crowd noise option going to be available?

I loved the 04 Red Sox. I loved the 07 Patriots. But holy shit, I have never had such a strong emotional connection with this a team such as the 2012 Celtic team filled with aging veterans in the twilight of their career wanting to give it one last shot. They aren't the most talented or exciting team, but the passion and heart they play with really inspires me and makes me believe in them even in the bleakest of moments.

They aren't going down this easily to the fucking Heat. They will win this for Boston.

Boston Brawler asked me if I had a good time at my first time at the new Garden - while the game was difficult to watch, this...the standing and cheering for the last 5 minutes or so...made the night special. To be fair, quite a few people left early but those that stayed stood on their feet, cheered and clapped.

Regarding tomorrow, if anyone fades the likes of a team featuring KG, Pierce, Allen and Rondo they simply don't understand basketball, guts and what people refer to as heart. That bunch and their compadres have it in spades.

Hearing how the Celtic players acknowledged the crowd's send-off chant, and knowing the intensity and professionalism of this Celtics team, I almost like that they will be holed up together as a team in the hotel and arena. I can imagine (and hope) that many Heat players will go back home with the feeling that the job is already done and Game 7 is a given. With our intensity and focus, and so-so Miami crowd atmosphere and team pressure.....well, let's just go and take care of business!

Side note...just went for late night walk on the beach with the Jersey Shore's transplanted palm trees (exiled here for work) and "In The Air Tonight" randomly came on my iPod....just make it Saturday and 8:30pm already!!
