He would have had a secondary effect fuckup if it was him, wouldn't he? Like maybe KD and Radon or something.
I'm certain that Menino actually wrote this.

Pierce also scares Miami because he wakes up every morning craving the opportunity to take a big basketball shot. He is the photographic negative of the Heat. His blood pressure actually goes down in the clutch. Paul Pierce breezes around the final two minutes of a close game like he's trying to find the sesame honey almonds at Trader Joe's. This is fun for him. He loves it.

LeBron James said all the changes have had a wearing effect on the whole team.
"It's been challenging not just for those of us who have been constants in the starting lineup but for those guys who have been in and out, not knowing if they're going to start or not," James said Thursday as the Heat prepared for an elimination game against the Boston Celtics.
The Heat have started five different players at center this season and seven over the last two years. They are Bosh, Joel Anthony, Udonis Haslem, Ronny Turiaf, Dexter Pittman, Erick Dampier and Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Two other veterans, Juwan Howard and Jamaal Magliore, have played minutes at center off the bench.
"It's been a challenge for all of us," said James, who has also played minutes at center in the series with the Celtics.
"At times it's been hard to get a rhythm starting the game or starting the third quarter. That has been a rotating door for the last two years, not just this series. There's Joel, C.B., U.D. at times, Ronny and Damp and Z. The list goes on in just two years."
As Bill Parcells used to say, give a player an excuse not to play well and they'll take it.

Presti: "If you want to improve this year's team, turn your expiring contracts — KG, Ray, Chris, Keyon and Jermaine — into better players and don't worry about cap space. For instance, let's say you offered KG's expiring contract to Dallas for Shawn Marion and Lamar Odom3 — Cuban might jump at that because he's desperately trying to clear money for Dwight and Deron this summer.
My how things have changed....
Let's wrap this conference title up tonight boys.
One more win in what has been one of my favorite sports seasons in recent memory.

If it was Lakers-Heat in the final, I'd root for the Lakers with every ounce of my soul. And I grew up equating the Lakers with the freaking Yankees and Canadiens.Crush the heat punks. I live in LA and so many people are pulling for the Celts. I never thought I would see that.
Let's Go Celtics!
That Heat-Cs intro video says it all.

Well, I have two names for Kevin Garnett: Kevin GarNOT and the next one I'm not going to say. … It doesn't have any curse words, but I'm not saying it though.
I'm tempted to leave the kid alone because he's like six, but everything he says is pure gold. I would love to see KG add "I do it for doubters, naysayers, the punkass six year olds who talk too much..." to one of his postgame interviews.

Do not commit the "and one" foul.
If they're gonna foul, make it count (without resorting to flagrancy). Wade needs to be intimately familiar with the wood-grain of the parquet tonight, or jump shots.

This is why we watch.
This is we stay up the late nights that make for tough mornings. This is why we drink that extra cup of coffee in the office the next day. This is why we plan our daytime hours around 48 minutes of nighttime play that is sandwiched between a myriad of commercials and promos for bad reality television. This is why we go home at lunch to walk the dog so we can head straight to the sports bar after work. This is why we continue to come back even though our sportsfan souls have been stomped on and crushed before.
We do it for the mere hope that the teams we follow will show the same fervor in the arena that we do for them everywhere else. When this happens, sports utopia arrives. It is the perfect storm for any ardent sports fan and almost always produces a postgame potporri of social media, messageboards and watching the same highlights over and over until you pass out in a state of bliss.
The 2011-2012 Boston Celtics do and provide just that. They care as much as we do.
Coming into this series, the Celtics were solid 6-1 underdogs. This was supposed to be LeBron's year. The Heat were supposed to "stiemroll" to the Finals on the way to their (not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7) 8+ NBA Titles. The loss of defensive stopper Avery Bradley combined with key injuries to Paul Pierce and Ray Allen was supposed to be too much for the Celtics to overcome; especially against a squad with two of the best players in the game.
Nobody told this Celtics team. Everyone picked against them, but they continued to do their thing. Their captain and most clutch player fouled out of two different games and they never quit. Their old bones could have packed it in and nobody would have even questioned it.
Instead, they found a way. They made sure that any Celtics fan watching wasn't wasting their time. They showed championship heart, championship guts, and championship soul. They showed Celtics Pride.
Welcome to the Jungle, Miami. Good job and good effort this year, but it is not enough.
Let's do this. Win today.
C's in 6.
Great opening post, Skrub.
you feel the power, just FEEL the power of Skrub
That's the power, that's the power of Skub
