So if he only pitches 3 innings then I presume he could be ready for Natstown on Saturday the 9th. I wonder what the corresponding move will be, they brought up D-Mac for Bard already. That gives us 4 guys who can cover CF and RF; D-Mac, Pods, Sweeney, and Byrd. I think D-Mac could be the ideal guy, if healthy, to platoon with Sweeney in RF. I just don't see any use for Byrd.

I wonder if Friday will be the last day of the Marlon Byrd experience.

Not sure that was a big secret. With Bard out, who else do the Red Sox really have?
